Woman succumbs to bicycle accident injuries

GREENSBURG, Ind.–Indiana State Police responded to a bicycle accident last Saturday in Greensburg. The public information officer with ISP, Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, says that the incident occurred near State Road 3 and Broadway Street. Emily Bauman, 43, of Greensburg, was traveling southbound on Broadway, crossing S.R. 3, when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Evidence indicates that the car had the right of way at the intersection, and it is unclear why the bicyclist entered the path of the vehicle.

Bauman was thrown from her bike and received life-threatening injuries in the collision. She was transported to Decatur County Memorial Hospital, where she later died. The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries.
