COLUMBUS, Ind. — Thursday is Kristen Brown’s last day in office after serving as the city’s mayor for the last four years.
In the past week, Brown has honored city officials who are also exiting their respective roles.
Brown proclaimed Dec. 26 as “Carl E. Malysz Day” in Columbus, in honor of the community development director who resigned and accepted a position in Louisville.
The mayor also honored the outgoing fire chief proclaiming Dec. 29 as “Chief Dave Allmon Day.”
Brown also designated Dec. 30 as “Jeff Logston Day” in Columbus in honor of the departing city attorney.
Mayor-elect Jim Linehoop will assume the office of mayor with a swearing-in ceremony Friday morning at City Hall. The public is welcome to attend the event.
