COLUMBUS, Ind — Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller released a statement Thursday following the arrest of a suspected nurse impostor.
Holly M. Whyde, 45, of Columbus, is accused of using someone else’s nursing credentials to get jobs in the nursing field. Detectives said Whyde worked at several healthcare businesses over the past four years, including two in Columbus.
The two month investigation started with a tip to a CPD detective. The case involved multiple agencies including FBI, Office of the Inspector General, U.S. Health and Human Services, and Indiana Attorney General’s Office.
Zoeller released the following statement after the arrest:
“Thanks to the Columbus Police Department for quickly assisting our office in this alarming case, which involved not only the impersonation of a nurse but the identity theft of an unsuspecting Hoosier,” Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller said. “The public places trust in trained nurses to make medical decisions, and this individual put patients at serious risk through her actions. My Office continues to work with the victim whose identity was stolen by this individual to ensure that no further harm is done.”
