GREENWOOD, Ind. — Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers spoke about the city’s financial position during his fifth State of the City Friday.
Myers delivered the address to a crowd of nearly 300 business leaders, community advocates and citizens.
The mayor noted a transparent and balanced budget, major operating funds close to or above a 50 percent reserve and an excellent credit rating.
Myers announced several projects planned for the near future, including the restoration of more than 20 downtown building facades, a $2.5 million renovation for Greenwood’s Community Center, and conversion of the State Road 135 Corridor from an agricultural area to a high-end commercial and residential center for the city.
“Greenwood can compete,” said Myers. “Greenwood must compete.”
