The condition of the adult victim has not been released.
UPDATE (4:09 PM) Firefighters have confirmed the 2-year-old girl died as a result of injuries sustained in the early afternoon blaze.

NEW WHITELAND, Ind. — A mother and 2-year-old child were hurt in a fire Tuesday in New Whiteland.
Firefighters from multiple agencies arrived around 12:40 p.m. at a home in the 700 block of Hickory Pine Drive.
A 2-year-old girl was rescued by firefighters and is being treated for undisclosed injuries at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. Her current condition has not been released.
The mother was rushed to another hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire was under control by 1:20 p.m.
Responding fire departments included Bargersville, Greenwood, New Whiteland, Franklin, Whiteland and White River Township. The state fire marshal is investigating.
