FRANKLIN, Ind. — A former Purdue basketball star has been a mainstay on the sidelines of Franklin High School boy’s games this year.
D.J. Byrd is an assistant coach for the team. He played for the Boilermakers from 2009 to 2013.
“I am grateful for the athletic department here to allow me to come in and coach this squad. It’s really been a learning experience,” Byrd said.
Franklin will play Center Grove in sectionals Friday night at 6 p.m. The game airs on KORN Country 100.3.
