FRANKLIN, Ind. — Opening remarks were made Wednesday in a suspected drug-deal killing in Greenwood.
Marcus Hardy, 30, of Indianapolis, is accused of gunning down Douglas Lane, 20, inside a Greenwood apartment in August 2015.
Prosecutors plan to argue Hardy intended to rob Lane during a drug deal. A fight allegedly started and Lane was shot in the head.
On Wednesday, The first officer to respond to the scene and a forensics technician were called to the stand. More witnesses are expected in the coming days.
Hardy faces up to 65 years in prison if convicted.
