UPDATE (4 P.M.) — The truck driver involved in a fiery crash Wednesday morning on southbound Interstate 65 has been identified.
Tyrone McKenney, 52, of Quinby, South Carolina, lost control at the 93 mile marker and struck a guardrail and tree. The semi then caught fire.
McKenney was rescued from the truck by Bryan Corns, 56, of Crown Point. Police praised Corns as a good Samaritan.
McKenney died at the hospital.
“Bryan Corns bravely put his life on the line for a complete stranger to save the driver from a horrific death inside that burning semi,” said ISP Sgt. John Perrine.
Travel delays impacted the portion of the interstate until 2 p.m. Wednesday.

WHITELAND, Ind. — Interstate 65 southbound in Johnson County is reopened after a deadly semi crash and fire early Wednesday morning, police said.
Around 6 a.m., state police were called to the scene after the semi crashed near Whiteland Road.
Troopers say a good Samaritan pulled the driver from the wreckage. The semi driver died after being rushed to a hospital.
The southbound lanes were closed for nearly an hour and a half Wednesday morning.
Delays are expected to continue through the morning as emergency crews remain on the scene.
