FRANKLIN, Ind. — A Johnson County deputy had to chase a suspect on foot during a traffic stop on Tuesday.
The officer pulled over a suspicious vehicle on County Road 100S and the driver allegedly exited the vehicle and ran away.
The foot chase continued through a wooded area before the man landed in the creek and the officer was able to take him into custody.
The suspect, Alan Barnes, 32, of Morgantown, had methamphetamine on him and large amount of cash, police said.
When the chase began the officer failed to put his vehicle into park. The cruiser rolled and collided with the truck causing minor damage.
