COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two high school students from Columbus have been named Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship winners.
Heritage Fund announced Columbus East senior Bryn Eudy and Columbus Signature Academy New Tech senior Karla Guerrero as recipients of the prestigious award.
Eudy and Guerrero will receive full tuition for four years at the Indiana college of their choice and a $900 annual stipend for books and supplies.
Eudy, daughter of Randall and Karla Eudy, is a staff member of the award-winning school newspaper, tutors at McDowell Adult Education Center and is varsity captain of the soccer team.
Eudy plans to attend Indiana University and major in journalism and public relations.
Guerrero, daughter of Carlos and Celia Guerrero, has been active as editor of the school yearbook, member of the advisory board for Indiana State Museum’s Bicentennial Committee, serves as the Columbus Signature Academy’s committee chairperson and the recipient of Outstanding Leadership recognition from Bartholomew County Youth Leadership.
Guerrero plans to major in journalism at Ball State University.
The 69 applicants were evaluated on academic performance, scholastic activities, community involvement, employment, leadership and financial need.
