GREENWOOD, Ind. — The city of Greenwood and the Indiana Department of Labor are partnering together to offer fall-prevention training.
State officials say falls are the leading cause of construction deaths. In 2014, 337 deaths in the United States were the result of falls at a work site.
In March, Greenwood received an award from the state for its training to reduce employee injury and illness by 43 percent.
“Safety has and will continue to be a top priority for Greenwood and my administration,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “When we create safer environments – for both the community and workplace – we create a better city. INSafe has been a great partner, and we look forward to providing this important training.”
The fall prevention seminar will be at Greenwood City Hall at 9 a.m. May 4.
