JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. — A report to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, regarding possible theft from resident mailboxes, resulted in the arrest of two individuals.
The report indicates a dark 1990s Chevy Caprice, with a homemade Fed Ex sign on the door, was stopping at residential mailboxes between Seymour and Dudleytown, Ind. Deputies responded to the area and witnessed the vehicle’s occupants place a flyer into a mailbox and pull away. The license plate on the vehicle was reported stolen from Johnson County.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested Billy Joe Ellis, 34, and Stacy Ann Lucas, 30, both of Commiskey. A search warrant was obtained and deputies recovered several items of mail from residents of Seymour, Columbus, and Jennings County.
