INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Monday, July 11th, will mark the beginning of a statewide bicycle ride around Indiana.
The ride will last 13 days and span nearly 1,000 miles to honor fallen police officers and their families. The cyclists will consist of active and retired police officers, law enforcement survivors, and family and friends of law enforcement.
Funds raised from the event are used to uphold the memories of officers killed in the line-of-duty and to assist surviving family members and friends. Previously, the monies collected have been donated to foundations, scholarships, and camps that have been started in the memory of fallen officers.
A departure ceremony will be held in front of the Indiana State Museum at 8:30 a.m., and the cyclists will depart shortly after survivors Carolyn Dudley and Jennifer Martin-Luskey deliver key-note comments.
