JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident late Thursday night where a car had run off the road and struck a utility pole.
The driver exited the vehicle from the passenger side and began to proceed toward the ambulance, but after taking one step, he fell to the ground face-first. The driver remained on the ground for several minutes. Eventually, he was able to stand and he was helped onto a cot by the medical crew.
Once at the hospital, the driver was identified as Ivis Robinette, 65, of Bargersville. He told deputies that he had been at a birthday party and drank three beers. Robinette stated all he could remember was sending a text message to a friend and then ran off the road.
After Robinette was released from Johnson Memorial Hospital, he was arrested and taken to Johnson County Jail.
