SEYMOUR, Ind.— While Seymour Police Officer Jim Handley was on patrol early Saturday morning, he noticed a man near the Travelodge in the 300 block of South Commerce Drive acting suspiciously.
Officer Handley believed the man to be actively involved in local drug activity and explored the situation further. During the investigation, over 40 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a .45-caliber handgun, and over $4,000 in cash was discovered.
The suspect was identified as Benjamin Bracewell, 39, of Seymour. Bracewell was placed under arrest, and faces preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of a handgun without a permit prior, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of marijuana.
