INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for a deer reduction hunt November 14-15 and November 28-29. The hunts are an important part of maintaining a healthy deer population and ecological balance.
Volunteers must be at least 18 and have a valid deer license. The drawing is completely random but preference is given to hunters that have completed a hunter education course.
State Parks included are Brown County, McCormick’s Creek, Charlestown, Chain O’ Lakes, Clifty Falls (archery only), Fort Harrison (archery only), Indiana Dunes, Pokagon, Prophetstown, Quabache, Shakamak, Summit Lake, Turkey Run, Versailles, Whitewater Memorial, Cave River Valley and Spring Mill.
