TRAFALGAR. Ind. — A Morgantown man was apprehended while beating a woman along a Johnson County road, and is now facing domestic battery charges.
Trafalgar police observed Patrick Lee Jackson, 29, beating the female outside a vehicle along County Road 700S early Wednesday afternoon. Within minutes, deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department intervened, and began the investigation.
The 21-year-old female was visibly shaken and told police the argument was over car stereo equipment Jackson wanted to sell after recently purchasing it. The victim said Jackson is a methamphetamine user, and she thought he wanted to use the proceeds from the sale to purchase drugs.
She stated Jackson tried to put the transmission in “park” while she was driving. He then told her if had to deal police again he would kill himself. As the argument escalated, she pulled to the side of the road because she was scared. Once on the side of the road, Jackson took the car key and threw it out the window. When the victim exited the vehicle to find the key he attacked her.
Jackson was arrested without incident at the scene.
