NASHVILLE, Ind. — About 1,000 acres of property in Brown and Johnson Counties brought more than $2.8 million at a recent auction. The highest price per acre was $695,000 for 62 acres in Johnson County.
Most of the property in Brown County is considered forest and protected under the Forest Legacy program. More than 900 acres in the Princes Lakes area were sold in 15 separate tracts.
Wabash-based, Halderman Farm Management & Real Estate Services, handled the auction and said the lots included “well-managed and marketable timber with superior recreation and hunting opportunities.” The land was being sold by the Ida R. Meyer Estate and Pleasant Hill Farms LLC.
