FRANKLIN, Ind. — A Franklin man is facing charges after fighting with his girlfriend in front of a child Monday night around 11:30.
Upon arrival at the home of the incident, Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies found a 39-year-old female victim bleeding from a large cut on her ear. The victim told police she and her boyfriend, Richard McKee, 30, had been drinking heavily in the garage when he became verbally abusive. When McKee would not stop, the victim went into the house.
McKee followed, and once inside, the struggle continued in the bedroom. McKee pushed the victim into a dresser that caused the cut to her ear. McKee’s mother heard the disturbance and began to yell at her son. He then grabbed his mother by the arm and pushed her out of the room. When the victim told McKee she was going to call police, he stomped on her toes. The victim was in a walking cast because of a recent toe amputation. All of these actions occurred in front of a minor child who was visibly upset and crying.
Despite not cooperating with police, Richard McKee was taken into custody at the scene and charged with domestic battery in front of a child and simple battery against his mother. The victim was treated at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
