NORTH VERNON, Ind. — A North Vernon investigation into suspicious activity led to one arrest and the discovery of methamphetamine, weapons, ammunition, stolen property and drug paraphernalia.
On Wednesday, October 5, at 1:30 a.m., an employee at a drive-thru window observed a customer with a box of ammunition in open view and acting suspiciously. Police were called and found Sierra Ihle, 21, of Brownstown, in the vehicle. A passenger had been in the vehicle with Ihle, but by the time police arrived, her passenger had left the scene.
During an investigation, police found 7.9 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, scales, two loaded .22 caliber rifles and several hundred rounds of ammunition. Police also recovered several articles of clothing and a digital camera that had been stolen from Wal-Mart. Ihle has been charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and possession of stolen property.
This is an active investigation and more arrests are likely.
