COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus-based Force Construction Company, Inc. has been selected to complete the first phase of the State Street revitalization project. The first phase includes renovation of the bridge over Haw Creek at the intersection of State Street, Second Street, Third Street, and Central Avenue.
The pedestrian walkway on the westbound side will be widened to 10 feet, and the pedestrian walkway on the eastbound side will be widened to 6 feet. New barriers and a cable system will be installed to protect pedestrians. New lighting is also included in the $2.1 million contract. The work will be completed in May 2017.
