COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation has issued a directive to political candidates and supporters about the placement of campaign signs.
Signs should not block visibility for motorists, signs should not be placed within the state right-of-way or in major intersections. If the right-of-way is not clearly marked, look for the location of utility poles or fence.
Signs that violate these standards will be removed and taken to an INDOT district location for optional pickup by the owner or supporter.
