GARDEN CITY, Ind. — A house fire in Garden City seriously injured a disabled man Thursday morning.
Columbus Township firefighters responded to the fire at 10:20 a.m. in the 900 block of Jonesville Road after the man’s daughter called for help. The man was on a couch in the living room, which was the origin of the fire. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the living room area.
Investigators believe careless smoking may have caused the blaze.
The disabled man was transported to an Indianapolis hospital with second and third degree burns.
