HOPE, Ind. — A Sunday afternoon accident killed an Edinburgh teen over the weekend.
Indiana State Police say a car driven by Austin Wade, 19, of Hope, was westbound on County Road 900N when he pulled into the path of a truck and camper being driven by Eric Harper, 36, of Hope, at the intersection of County Road 350 east. The collision caused both vehicles to leave the road and the truck and camper to overturn.
A front seat passenger in Wade’s car, Allyssia Christman, 17, of Edinburgh, was seriously injured and transported to an Indianapolis hospital where she later died. Wade was treated and released. Harper and two juveniles were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
