ACTON, Ind. — A fiery crash killed the driver of a semi-truck Wednesday on Interstate 74, near the Acton Road exit.
Police reports indicate, around 10:30 a.m., the truck drove off the right side of the eastbound lane, crashed, and caught fire. When emergency crews arrived the truck was fully engulfed in flames. Emergency responderss quickly extinguished the flames and found the body of the driver trapped in the wreckage.
Investigators have not determined why the truck drove off the road or if another vehicle was involved. Witnesses are being interviewed by police.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office recovered the remains and is working to identify the victim.
