NASHVILLE, Ind. — A woman in Brown County has been charged with two counts of counterfieting.
The investigation began in July when employees at the Abe Martin Lodge told Indiana Conservation officers they had received several fake $20 bills. A clerk told officers that Kelsey Wooton, 21, exchanged the bills for smaller denominations of currency. An employee of a local convenience store also told police Wooton attempted to pass a counterfeit $20 bill during that same time frame, but the employee rejected it. When police questioned Wooton she said she had received the bills from a man who owed her money.
Wooton is now cooperating with authorities.
