SEYMOUR, Ind. — Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies rescued two Indianapolis women and their dogs after being lost in the Hoosier National Forest Saturday.
Police received a call from the individuals around 6:15 p.m. requesting assistance. Through dispatchers, police were able to narrow their search to the area of County Roads 1400W and 1000N. Deputies used an intermittent siren to pinpoint their location. After several hours, deputies carried Cynthia and Alyssa Broughton and their dogs from the woods.
There were no life-threatening injuries reported.
