COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus man was arrested Monday evening for chasing a moped with his car following a dispute between the drivers.
At 5:45 p.m., police responded to the area of Indiana Avenue and Cleveland Street on the report of a disturbance. Witnesses reported to police that a white car hit a telephone pole while chasing a moped. The driver fled the scene in the wrecked vehicle. A short time later police made contact with the car driven by Daniel Roberts, 29.
During the investigation, police determined Roberts did not have a driver’s license and was in possession of prescription drugs that did not belong to him. He has been charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, possession of controlled substance, criminal recklessness with a vehicle, and operating without a license.
