COLUMBUS, Ind. — Night of a Thousand Jacks drew more than 3,000 parents, kids and friends to FairOaks Mall last Saturday, and raised about $18,000 for local child abuse victims.
The event is also a fundraiser for Advocates for Children. The organization provides Court Appointed Special Advocates to local children who have been removed from their home because of abuse, neglect or legal issues.
The kids walked through 18 collections of pumpkins carved by local agencies, played games, participated in the QMIX 107.3 costume contest and met with people from Utopia Wildlife. Cheerleaders from Columbus East, Columbus North and Columbus Christian schools did face painting and members of American Legion Post 501 mingled in the crowd dressed as Star Wars characters.
