INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A Republican candidate for U.S. Congress escaped being shot while in a crossfire in Indianapolis over the weekend.
Cat Ping was in a car at the intersection of 38th Street and Emerson Avenue Friday afternoon, when the occupants of two other vehicles began shooting at each other. One person was shot in the shoulder and is expected to make a full recovery. Police are investigating the shooting but have no suspects.
Ping is running against Democrat Andre Carson for the seat in the 7th Congressional District.
