INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Four Hoosiers have made the list of the wealthiest people in the nation. The minimum net worth needed to make the “2015 Forbes 400” list is $1.7 billion, and 145 billionaires in the country did not make the list.
The richest Hoosier entered the list at #82, and he is CEO of Bloomington-based Cook Medical. Carl Cook has a net worth $5.8 billion. Last year, he was 83rd on the list.
The second richest Hoosier, Herb Simon of the Simon Property Group is 234th on the list with $2.8 billion in net worth. He was up 34 spots from 2014.
Dean White, founder of Merrillville-based White Lodging Services Corp., is the third richest Hoosier, and is 268th on the Forbes list with $2.5 billion in assets. Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay, is the 4th wealthiest Hoosier and 293rd on the list with $2.3 in net worth.
