NORTH VERNON, Ind. — A routine traffic stop in North Vernon led to a drug arrest just before 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Police observed a car driven by Ricky Daugherty, 52, of Taswell, driving with an expired license plate and pulled it over. During the stop, Daugherty admitted to having a small amount of marijuana. A search conducted by police found that small amount of marijuana, plus a larger amount of marijuana in one of his pockets, and at least three different kinds of prescription pain medication.
Daugherty was taken to the Jennings County Jail and charged with felony trafficking with an inmate, possession of marijuana and possession of prescription medicine.
