INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — State Representative Scott Pelath from Michigan City has been selected again to serve as the Indiana House Democrat leader. Pelath was selected Tuesday by the House Democrat Caucus.
“We have just seen an election that was very difficult for Democrats at the state and national levels,” Pelath said. “Despite all these hardships, Indiana House Democrats return today in greater numbers than before. We face a significant challenge that transcends the usual work that we do”.
During Pelath’s third consecutive term as leader he will provide direction for 30 House Democrat members. Indiana Democrats gained one seat in the 2016 election.
