SEYMOUR, Ind. — Three children were critically hurt in an Interstate 65 accident in Jackson County Saturday around 4 p.m.
Indiana State Police say a car driven by Ernest Pagels, 53, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, was southbound when he slowed quickly for an unknown reason. A van driven by April Bickel, 41, of Elwood, swerved to avoid hitting Pagels and struck the rear of a car driven by Jeffery Ireland, 59, of Concord, NC.
Ireland was treated for minor injuries. Bickel and the four children in her van all suffered serious injuries and were transported to a Louisville hospital.
