FRANKLIN, Ind. — A Whiteland man is facing misdemeanor charges after accidentally shooting a neighbor in October.
Johnson County deputies say Donald Lawlis, 54, shot Kevin Destrampe while target shooting in the 1700 block of County Road 125 West. Destrampe was shot in the knee and is expected to make a full recovery. If convicted, Lawlis could receive up to 180 days in Jail and a $1,000 fine.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says target shooting is legal in the county but common sense must be used in any activity involving firearms.
