TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a possible overdose Monday morning.
Police were called to a gas station in the Taylorsville area around 6 a.m. and found Garrett Mack, 25, of Greenwood, slumped over the steering wheel. After several attempts to wake-up Mack failed, the back window of the vehicle was broken in order to gain access. Once inside, police observed a syringe sticking in Mack’s left hand.
As Mack regained consciousness he attempted to move the syringe. After being cleared by Columbus Regional Health, deputies removed the syringe and placed Mack under arrest.
Mack has been charged with possession or use of a syringe. Under the new rules of a pre-trial program, Mack has been released.
