INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Indiana House Republican Speaker Brian Bosma has appointed some local lawmakers to leadership appointments for the 2017 General Assembly.
District 59 Representative Milo Smith will serve as the chairman of the Elections and Apportionment Committee, District 69 Representative Jim Lucas will serve as the assistant majority whip, District 58 Representative Woody Burton will chair the Financial Institutions Committee, District 57 Representative Sean Eberhart will serve as the chairman of the Natural Resources Committee, and District 67 Representative Randy Frye will chair the Veteran’s Affiars and Public Safety Committee.
“We are fortunate to have a deep bench of experienced and talented public servants to help lead Indiana forward,” said Bosma. “This session, we have many important issues to tackle including passing a balanced state budget and a long-term road funding plan. I’m confident of the team we have in place and we look forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting to work on behalf of Hoosiers.”
