NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Two North Vernon brothers were arrested after a Saturday night pursuit in Jennings County.
The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department says at 10:22 p.m., officers observed a speeding vehicle on U.S. 50 near County Road 75 East. When deputies attempted to make a stop, the vehicle fled south on County Road 75 East at speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour. The pursuit continued for 15 miles until ending at the residence of the driver of the vehicle, Troy Petro, 20. Petro exited the vehicle and began to fight with police until he was subdued with a Taser.
Petro’s brother, Brian Petro, 19, and others arrived at the scene and attempted to hinder the efforts of police during the investigation. According to deputies, Brian Petro made threats to police, so he was also arrested.
Both were taken to the Jennings County Jail and face multiple charges.
