COLUMBUS, Ind. — Purdue Polytechnic Columbus has received a $50,000 gift to establish the Helen and Adrian Minnick Scholarship. Beginning in 2018, the scholarship will pay $2,500 per year to a student pursuing a degree at the school.
Both Mr. & Mrs. Minnick have a long history of community involvement in the Columbus area. They were frequent volunteers with the Bartholomew County Public Library, Volunteers in Medicine and the AARP Tax Service. Adrian Minnick is fondly remembered for presentations at many local schools as the “Little Old Man That Could Read. “
Adrian Minnick retired in 1980 after 30 years with Arvin Industries, and he is also a Purdue graduate.
