SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — One person was killed in an accident on State Road 44 at the Johnson-Shelby County line Monday morning.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department says at 6:54 a.m., a westbound van sideswiped an eastbound car driven by Amber Hosier, 45, of Franklin, but continued traveling east. The van then collided head on with a truck driven by Barton Brettnacher, 45, of Bargersville. As the van sat idle in the roadway it was struck again by a car driven by Kyle Gossage, 25, of Shelbyville. The impact pushed the van into another truck driven by Thomas Urritia, 62, of Morgantown.
The driver of the van died Monday afternoon from injuries suffered that morning. No names have been released. All other drivers were not seriously hurt. The crash investigation is ongoing.
