BROWN COUNTY, Ind. — A semi tractor-trailer incident at the Bartholomew-Brown County line resulted in the spill of several gallons of diesel fuel Monday afternoon.
The driver was traveling east on State Road 46 when he noticed fuel leaking from his truck. He pulled over and discovered there was a hole in one of tanks that holds about 100 gallons of fuel. The trucking company called a professional contractor to clean the spill and prevent it from running into nearby Henderson Creek.
Volunteer firefighters reported the spill ran about 150 feet down a ditch before the cleanup was completed.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management also responded and will conduct another site visit in the coming days.
