COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Ivy Tech Community College Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success will induct 18 new members, and honor several students, faculty, and staff on Friday, December 9.
The selections are made based on academic standing and leadership potential. The honorable distinction includes benefits like scholarships, awards, exclusive events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, discounts on computers, books, grad school prep courses and insurance.
Students to be inducted are Joshua Borowski of Columbus, Theresa Colina of Butlerville, Sherry Dowell of Nineveh, John Farace of Brownstown, Brianna Hettinger of Greenwood, Hobert hurley of Shelbyville, Gregory Johnson of Columbus, Christine Lefler of Hope, Krista Marshall of Nashville, Pierre Alexandre Mbaye of Columbus, Melissa Miller of Trafalgar, Donald Morris of Columbus, Evan Mustard of Columbus, Karissa Nolan of Nineveh, Shanta Pittman of Columbus, Savannah Spray of Columbus, Jonathan Sweet of Shelbyville and Clarence G. White of Columbus.
Miller, Spray, Nolan, Mustard, Mbaye, Marshall, Johnson and Colina will also receive the National Engaged Leader Award. The award will also be presented to Lauren Burton of Edinburgh, Catherine Robertson of Hope and Bethany Wendel of Columbus. This award is presented to students who complete orientation and leadership training day, attend six speaker broadcasts, six success networking team meetings and at least five hours of community service.
Excellence in Teaching Awards will be presented to the assistant professor and department chair of criminal justice and human services, Mary Garvey; assistant professor of business, Trunnis Goggins and department chair of business operations, applications and technology, Bonnie Nolting. Career development advisor, Sara Dunlap will be presented with the Excellence in Service Award.
