COLUMBUS, Ind. — The sentence was handed-down recently in a drug case involving a Mexican citizen. Carlos Martinez Perez, 31, will serve ten years in jail. Martinez was arrested last year after multiple drug buys with confidential informants. On one occasion he sold an ounce of cocaine for $1,000 and half-ounce of methamphetamine for $1,000 two times.
Plea hearings for two accomplices, Albin Asencio, 30, and Erlin Lucero-Asencio,24, are scheduled for February 6, 2017.
The investigation was done by the Joint Narcotics Task Force and the Indiana State police.
