NASHVILLE, Ind. — A Brown County family lost their home and possessions in a fire on Three Story Hill Road around 3 a.m. Monday. There were no injuries but the family of six is now homeless.
The fire created several challenges for firefighters. The driveway was covered with ice so firefighters had to use 500 feet of hose to reach the fire. Extreme cold temperatures also hampered efforts. Departments from Jackson Township, Hamblen Township, Brown County, Fruitdale and Trafalgar fought the blaze.
Several donation efforts are underway. Contributions can be made at the People’s Bank loca tion in Morgantown. Paypal donations can be made by emailing Jlangley1126@gamil.com. The General Assembly Churchand Church of Firstborn will accept checks made out in care of Bill Bryant, 229 East St., Morgantown, Indiana, 46160.
Items needed are women’s clothes in sizes 10 to 12, size 9 shoes and medium or large shirts. Men’s pants waist size 32-34, large to extra-large shirts and size 13 shoes.
The oldest male child wears size 10 pants, size 5 shoes, and medium shirts. The oldest girl wears size 7 pants, size 2 shoes and a size 7-8 shirt.
The youngest boy wears 3T and size 9 shoes. His twin sister is a size 4T and a size 12 shoe.
Donations can also be dropped off at 350 Morton St., in Morgantown.
