NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Law enforcement is indicating that drugs are suspected to be at least a part of the cause of an accident that injured two people in North Vernon on Christmas Eve.
The North Vernon Police Department responded to a collision on U. S. 50, near Showers Drive, at 11:51 p.m. When they arrived they found a car driven by William Lane, 27, of Seymour, had collided with a car driven by Brittany Engelking, 19, of Scipio.
Both are being treated at Indianapolis area hospitals.
Police are reviewing toxicology results.
