GREENWOOD, Ind. — The grand re-opening of the Greenwood Community Center has been set for January 14, as a $2 million renovation project has been completed. The center first opened in 1992.
The remodeled facility will have an expanded gym with the latest in cardio and weightlifting equipment. The updated center will also have a two-story “Kid City” that has a Lucky Climber, a wall-sized Lite Brite, and a musically themed outdoor play area.
The new layout includes three rooms that can be rented for events, plus an area for adult fitness classes.
“This is truly a game changer for our community,” said Parks & Recreation Director Rob Taggart. “The facility has been completely reimagined, providing modern exercise equipment and fitness class spaces, a year-round indoor play zone for children, and activity centers that incorporate educational themes such as STEM, art and music. We can’t wait to see the reaction from visitors.”
