FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Organizers say 40,000 attendees at the Fort Wayne Farm Show got a positive message about the future of agriculture in Indiana. PNC Bank Agriculture Banking Market Manager Warren Graeff says stabilization of market prices for commodities creates improved optimism for producers.
Graeff states, “We’re seeing that farmers in Indiana are fairly frugal and are fairly tight-fisted, so they tend to be a little bit better managers as far as the Ag economy is concerned. We haven’t seen, for example, farmland prices get as high in Indiana as we have in some other states. We’ve seen some good profitability in the state of Indiana.”
The Fort Wayne Farm Show is in its 28th year and is considered one of the most respected farm shows in the country. The show includes more than 1,000 booths, machinery demonstrations, and opportunities to become CPR certified.
