FRANKLIN, Ind. — Franklin College has received a $100,000 grant to provide distinctive engagement opportunities for students. The grant has been provided by the Elba L. and Gene Portteus Branigan Foundation.
“We deeply appreciate the Branigin Foundation’s generosity and commitment to higher education in Indiana,” says President Thomas J. Minar, Ph.D. “Franklin College encourages its students to be engaged learners, rather than passive recipients of information. This type of grant enables students to put their liberal arts education to work in a positive and meaningful way.”
The program will connect liberal arts education with experiential relevant learning. Opportunities include, but are not limited to internships, research opportunities, conference presentations, academic and professional competitions.
