COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two Columbus women are facing drug charges after a Tuesday evening traffic stop.
Police pulled-over a car driven by Esmeralda Ibarra, 35, near 10th Street and Gladstone Avenue. During the stop police say Ibarra gave police a false name. When she was correctly identified, law enforcement determined she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Police found a small baggie in Ibarra’s coat that they suspected contained methamphetamine.
A passenger, Amanda Rangel, 19, also gave police a fictitious name. Officers discovered that she, too, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Police located what they thought was heroin in a makeup case that was near Rangel.
Ibarra and Rangel face charges of drug possession, false informing, and outstanding warrants from Bartholomew County.
