COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Police officer Brian Kushman has been recognized for his work with the Bartholomew County Veteran’s Court. Kushman is a 16-year veteran of the force and also served in the military for eight years.
Participation in the court is completely voluntary and each applicant is carefully screened prior to serving. The program is designed to help veterans who may have fallen into the legal system while holding them accountable for their actions. Chief Rohde stated “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your military service and for your service to our community as a police officer.” Rohde added, “I commend you for the work you have done to positively impact the lives of our veterans and I am honored to work alongside you.”
